Men and women suffer from sprains and strains associated with running, golf, climbing and swimming and research has shown that acupuncture may help by releasing muscle tension, improving blood-flow and healing responses and by reducing swelling, bruising and pain. Acupuncture has been proven to increase pain suppressing hormones and endorphins which could account for it's effectiveness in these cases as well as for those people suffering from arthritis, back pain and other joint point such as frozen shoulder and tennis elbow.
